Rush of days...

A blur of new experiences...
events...
treasures found, but not by me ;(
School field trips...
Friendly visits...
Growing and discovering...
Funny times...
Silly times...
Restful times...
and creative times...

The past few weeks have been so full... so full.

Eugene Modern Quilt Guild is having it's first meet-up... we might have some actual people show up... I am so excited.

Maybe the tooth fairy will visit our house, now if we can just find that second tooth...

We are all full up with big kids around here too... no more babies, just big old kids learning new things and teaching their Momma a thing or two about a thing or two.

The postie has been good to me lately!

The quilt wall for Fall 2010!
Here is the new one from a new friend. Home, so perfect for me.
The back... love the little queen in her newsprint dress.
and then... so many goodies. My favorite extra is the watercolor. The back of it has a note from the artist explaining her process and what a fun experience she had making it. I love doing these types of swaps for this reason, learning about other quilters from their blogs and flickr favorites. And then making them something from my own hands that is specially for them. It is a wonderful thing. I think that this is my 5th (?) swap with the Doll Quilt Swap group and every one of them has been just as special.
THEN... I have a super fast stitcher in my Hoop Up! group. She already finished mine and sent it from Canada! What a week! (Check out that eye in the O, so fun!)

DQS#9 Finished!

Not much to say today, just a little quilt share. I must say that this is attempt #2 for the ol' Doll Quilt Swap #9 (there are some AWESOME quilts this round, every round actually. SO inspirational). I finished the top of #1 and my husband said "I like the Southwestern vibe" WELL, it was NOT Southwestern that I was going for (not that there is anything wrong with that)... and then that was all I could see, and we all know how that goes...

I am happy to say that after finishing this one, I liked the bubbles so much that I am adding bubbles to the "southwestern" one and I think that it is all going to be OK.

School is really starting tomorrow! I had a moment tonight while making dinner. A moment where I just had to stop what I was doing and do a happy dance because Mango takes naps... and sometimes it will just be she and I during the week now. The house is so quiet when she sleeps... and I can sew as much as I like... just me, sewing! Now I have to go and do a dance again!

Happy Birthday Baby!

Happy Birthday little Mango!

I see you looking at the world, waiting, figuring it out. You take your time, weigh your options, and then (usually following your big brothers' lead) leap right in to the fray. Your first few steps were a run. I hear you let out a squall when you can't get down from where you have climbed to.

Breathe deep, little girl, snuggle here in my arms just a little longer. You will be able to do everything you desire, before you know it, before I know it. Be a baby, with your momma, for just a wee bit longer.

Happy Birthday little girl, we love you so.
