the doll quilt surfaces...

I have been scolded for my blog posts being too "quilt-centric", well when you have a million (OK, 3) swaps to get out the door, sometimes it happens. I hope to finish posting pictures of my Rocky Mountain trip later this week. The slowest part is editing the pictures and making myself chose one or two images to keep instead of the 20 that I take of each waterfall, different angles and everything.

Here is a peek at my doll quilt swap 4 that I have been working on. OK, I admit I started it last night. I have been thinking about it since I signed up but last night I started cutting the fabric. I was so proud of myself. I cut fabric that I have only been hoarding for 2 months!!! I even sliced my turquoise bird fabric that I bought in Colorado. This is a big step for my addiction, a big step. I love these birds and the colors so much that I decided to make a series of 2 so that I can keep one for myself. Exciting times!

SNAP! I still haven't taken garden pictures...it is going crazy and I am going to try to dig some new potatoes after I log off. I planted some kind of Russian purple one and I can't wait to taste it! Be back soon!

I like quilt-centric! I love how your doll swap quilt is looking so far! That is so smart to make two so you can keep one. I said I was going to do that too but the quilt is taking so much time that I am not so sure anymore.

Oooh, your partner is going to love this quilt! I, too, am a fabric hoarder, or should I say "collector", haha. I have some of that orange fabric with the flowers on it, too - I love that one. And um, I have yet to start my doll quilt. Guess I need to get a move on...:)

I don't mind quilt-centric posts :-) - but I also want photos of the purple Russian potato - yum! Those birds are DIVINE! I'm very proud of you that you cut into that fabric AND are giving some away! Good idea to make one to keep - it would be too sad to say farewell and never see them again. Love the orange and love the little black squares. Gorgeous!

Oh, I LOVE that bird fabric. I want to use it in everything. As for quiltcentric, why, too much is never enough!

Those birds are utterly charming and the colors are great! I'm glad you're keeping one for yourself. It's fun knowing that your quilt has a "sister quilt" somewhere in the world.

love the bird quilt. I know you said you were harvesting potatoes this week. I am reading about the birth as their life cycle ends.
