Wait... What is it? I am PUBLISHED!
There is my little toothy friend!
Last year when I was starting this, I saw a submissions request on the Quilting Arts website. Doing the EMQG freaked me out so immensely that I thought, "Might as well submit SOMETHING, the worst they can do is not accept it... but I will still have the stuff that I made! And if they do take it, that will be one thing checked off my 'life list'."
CHECK!
I just finished going through the magazine... it is a fattie! SO many things to make and do (and not just mine!) I did cry when I saw my tooth pillow. I wasn't sure what the format for the patterns was going to be (how much space for each project etc.) BUT they put in the part I wrote about my childhood tooth pillow and that slayed me. My stuff (and everyone else's too!) looks beautiful. The creative team at Quilting Arts did a fantastic job. (I have a feeling that some of these projects are going to turn up at my house as part of my Pattern Pact!) I am so happy with my first foray in to the publishing world!
I just happen to have an extra copy... would you like it to come to your house? You could cover yourself in patchwork projects! What if you gave me a comment... yes, how about you tell me one thing that is on your life list that TOTALLY freaks you out, but it is there.... something that you want to do before you leave the planet. AND then I will do a random/pull a name out of a hat type thing next Friday (then we can have 2 Happy Fridays, right?) Let's say enter by 4/15/11 @ noon PST! (Tax day!) If you want to blog about it yourself, or follow me that is great, but to be honest I am just glad you are here today and I am here today and that we are having our Happy Friday together.
Have the best weekend, I am going to float on these good feelings for at least 2 more days!

Way to go Jessica! Congrats! You ARE going to bring the magazine to the meeting next week! Can't wait.
I just saw the preview of this magazine. It looks wonderful! I have always wanted to sky dive. It REALLY freaks me out because I am scared of heights!
Congratulations! That is one of the things on my life list, too, that I have not done yet. Happy Friday indeed!
Congratualations!!! What a clever idea. That is VERY exciting! I will need to go look for that publication. I have always wanted to write a children's book and illustrate it with little quilts.
I want to learn to ride a motor cycle...
scares the bee-jeepers out of me, especially when I see them riding on the freeway
congratulations on your project being published too!!
Jessica - That is so great! A huge congratulations! I love your project and will definitely look for the magazine! I too would like published work, and really want to enjoy the days with my kids, and work on making a list. So excited for you!
How exciting! So glad you went ahead and submitted your entry. I guess submitting something to a quilt show really intimidates me. Maybe I'll follow your lead and try something outside my comfort zone. Would love to win the magazine!
Wonderful Jessica! I too would love to be published in the art/textile world. I'm so glad you took the chance. I hope your glow lasts longer than a couple of days!
great job, girlie! i'm so proud of you!
like theresa, mine is skydiving, i am scared of heights but not so much that would NOT do something that involved it :) also before i do take the plunge (ha ha) i would like to lose some weight so that i don't even have to ask the question 'is there a weight limit?' ;)
Congratulations, it's a great and surreal feeling to be published isn't it. I remember my first time and the strange feeling of seeing my project in a magazine i'd always just been a reader in.
Congratulations !
Hey, I'm swapping with a celebrity :-)
I'll put the magazine on my shopping list for our vacation in the US
(The previous comment from Josh was me accidentally being signed into my husband's blogger account.)
Congratulations, Jessica! I think it's so great that you've been published. I'm totally jealous, but oh so happy that I can say years down the road that I met you once in Portland. =)
Hmmm...my life list goals seem so lofty right now since all I can think about is surviving this pregnancy while having to work in an office again. Ugh!
WTG Jessica on getting published!! I am terrified of water, especially putting my face in it...so getting over that phobia and learning to swim well, other than just dog paddle is my "thing". I will have to get your autograph at EMQG meeting! LOL
BRAVO!
Miss you! Good to see you and the fam... and catch up. We are off to FL to camp on the beach and go to Disneyworld. That last sentence sounds more exotic than it will actually be. But, we will try to be festive! Sending lots of hugs,
Yaz
P.S. CONGRATULATIONS ON THE PUBLICATION!!!!!!!!!!
Sending more hugs for that big whammy....
Yaz
