Tonight, me and my man are going to a concert...I don't even remember the last time we went to a concert...the late 90's??? No, wait a minute we LOVE to go see Pink Martini whenever they are available. BUT, we usually see them in the park for free, so then it maybe isn't so datey, and then the kids are usually along so.... But tonight we are going to dinner with 2 other couples (I don't remember the last time that this happened...DEFINITELY pre 2003.) and then to the show. We are seeing the Swell Season...from Once, my favorite movie of the moment (I really liked Juno too...sorry Tonya.) I will tell you how wonderful they are later this week!!! I will leave you with just the fun loaf tin of yo-yos that I un-earthed in the old craft studio....I have been having fun thinking of ways to use them.
Also--- a peekie-peekie of my swap quilt---The back-- I was trying to piece a basket, but I am afraid that my piecing skills are not as exciting to me as making wonky things, so the basket is for the back. Once I decided that I just needed to make something that I liked, it all came together and I am SO very pleased. :)
Later tater,

I am profoundly jealous that you can see Pink Martini for free in the park.
I'm trying to think of what might make you jealous of NH, but I'm coming up empty.
(sigh)
Ditto on the Pink Martini envy - I heard the founding fellow (can't remember his name) interviewed on one of our radio programmes earlier in the year- he was FABULOUS! What a guy! What a band! I love your yo-yos - I definitely have a yo-yo quilt inside me - one that will make everyone else laugh but I will be most happy! And your basket is the best basket I have ever seen! I'm serious! I am never overly keen on the pastely, sugary sweetness of them - but I *like* your colours - makes it look as if the basket is actually sitting on the balcony of a groovy old apartment with baby roma tomatoes growing wildly, hot red geraniums spilling over the edge and Pink Martini bubbling through the window! Can't believe you've put it on the back :-)
okay, I feel left out. I've never even heard of Pink Martini. Haven't seen Once yet either. Hey, I really liked Juno. I thought it was fun and cute. But did you really think it was worth a Best Picture Oscar nom? That's what I was objecting to, not the movie. Making something you like sounds like a much better plan for the swap quilt - look forward to seeing it.
Your post title just begs to be jumbled: "A tin of date loaf on yo-yos night" or "A date of tin yo-yos on loaf night." Have fun on your date! If that's the back of your quilt, I can't wait to see the front. What a great combination of fabrics.
Ok, so now I will look up "Once" too. I am really out of the loop....
